It is common knowledge that Covid-19 has put an immense strain on the functionality of business. To alleviate such a strain, HMRC have temporarily changed their rules regarding the yearly tax returns.
An Extra month has been granted for the filing of personal tax returns to HMRC!
This means that if, for whatever reason, you were unable to provide us with the relevant information to file your tax return by the original deadline (31st January) we now have an extra month to submit your paperwork and avoid a late filing penalty.
Normally, you’d receive a £100 fine if you missed the end of January due date.
But, HMRC has now said that there will be no penalty for submitting your returns late, as long as they’re in by 28th February 2021.
Our team at Gow & Partners truly hope that this news meets our clients well and gives you some extra breathing space if your finances have been tight, or your time has been dominated by other commitments.
If you have not yet provided us with the necessary paperwork for the filing of your return, you can contact us and arrange a drop of appointment at your convenience.
